About Daniel
Daniel Clarke arrives from Kingston College in Jamaica for the 2025–26 academic year, foregoing his final high school season to join Texas Tech. At just 18, Clarke made a global splash with a personal best of 13.06 seconds in the 110 meter hurdles at the Jamaican Carifta Trials in early March, still ranked number one globally in the under 20 age group more than two months later.
A key contributor to Kingston College’s four year championship streak at the ISSA GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Athletics Championships, Clarke helped them celebrate their centennial year with another team triumph. He’s been quick to emphasize how Texas Tech stood out for its strong academics, elite facilities, and an NCAA Division I hurdles program that mirrors the discipline and support of his high school coach.
He’ll pursue a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, combining his passion for movement and performance with studies focused on athlete wellness and human biomechanics.
Clarke says he’s ready to challenge himself at the senior level and push past his limits, noting his confidence and ambition as he eyes success in NCAA competition. With his world-class speed, competitive mindset, and academic drive, Daniel Clarke is poised to flourish on and off the track with the Red Raiders.
