About Hollis

Hollis Porter joins the Red Raiders after standout performances at Pearl River Community College and Maryland. At PRCC, he posted a .399 batting average with a .488 on-base percentage and .827 slugging, clubbing 20 home runs in the 2024 NJCAA season. He then transferred to Maryland, where in 2025 he slashed .303/.365/.632 with 21 homers, 64 RBIs, and 13 doubles over 55 games, ranking among the Big Ten’s top sluggers.

Hollis earned national attention with Maryland, capturing both Big Ten Player of the Week and Dick Howser Trophy National Co-Hitter of the Week honors early in the season. His power-packed bat makes him one of the highest-impact transfers Texas Tech has secured.

A left-handed hitter with imposing power and run-production ability, Porter brings both offensive firepower and defensive flexibility in corner infield and outfield roles. His defensive consistency and athleticism complement his slugging profile, adding depth to the lineup.

Off the field, Hollis’s journey from junior college to the Big Ten to the Big 12 reflects his ambition, resilience, and readiness to thrive at the highest levels. He’s poised to become a cornerstone of the Red Raiders’ lineup as they aim to elevate their offensive output in the coming seasons.
