About Jacob
Jacob splits time between the rotation and bullpen, arriving at Texas Tech after a dominant run at Midland College. In his second season with the Chaparrals, he posted a 4–0 record with a minuscule 1.04 ERA, striking out 37 batters while issuing just five walks across 26 innings. He kicked off the season with a five-inning shutout, earning WJCAC Player of the Week honors.
A former two-way player at Ottawa University, Jacob focused solely on pitching after transferring to Midland, and he credits that decision for significant growth. In 2024 he went 4–1 with a 5.84 ERA over 57 innings, striking out 57 batters—proof his development curve remains strong.
Midland’s coaching staff lauded his rapid progress, noting his added strength, refined mechanics, and growing pitchability. He earned back-to-back weekly conference honors and quickly became the Chaparrals' go-to arm.
Jacob’s commitment to Texas Tech reflects both his ambition and the Red Raiders’ confidence in his potential. He chose the program for its winning culture, fan support, and proximity to family.
