About Luke

Luke Orfi arrives from Florida SouthWestern State College, where he built a reputation as one of the top JUCO bats in the nation. In the 2024–25 season, he earned GCAC Tournament MVP honors, helped lead his team to the JUCO College World Series, and collected JBB All-America recognition.

Luke paced the conference with a .438 batting average, posted a .513 on-base rate, and slugged .729 across the season. His elite performance also earned him a spot on the Prep Baseball Report’s Preseason Top 25 JUCO Prospects list, rated the number 18 position player in the country.

A dynamic shortstop with excellent bat-to-ball skills, raw power, and speed, Luke offers both offensive upside and defensive reliability up the middle. His commitment to Texas Tech was announced via social media in summer 2024.

Off the field, Luke comes from a close-knit family—parents Alan and Dawn, two brothers, Abel and Noah, and sister Sara—and values the opportunity to contribute to a winning culture at Texas Tech.
