About Sarengbe

Sarengbe “Sara” Sanogo brings a dynamic blend of size, defense, and efficiency to the Lady Raiders’ frontcourt. In her junior season at Texas Tech, she started 36 of 37 games and averaged 4.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.0 block per game, shooting an impressive 53 percent from the field, marking the second highest field goal percentage on the team.

She was a consistent interior presence, recording five 10-plus-point games, 12 contests with five or more rebounds, and 15 games with multiple blocks. Her standout performance came against Houston, where she tallied a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. She led Texas Tech in blocks 20 times, finished second in team rebounding eight times, and showed her all-around impact across minutes, assists, and steals.

Before arriving at Tech, Sara was dominant at Odessa College, averaging 11.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, and shooting 65 percent from the field. She earned NJCAA Division I Honorable Mention All-American honors and was named WJCAC Co Newcomer of the Year while helping her team reach the Elite Eight.

A smooth transition to the Big 12 followed, where she ranked among conference leaders in blocks per game, field goal percentage, and contributed consistently off the bench and in the starting rotation.

Family ties bring extra energy: Sara’s sister, Mariam Sanogo, also plays for the Lady Raiders as a forward/guard. The two share the court, common roots from Paris, and a familial drive that enhances team chemistry.

Off the court, Sara brings a calm confidence and international poise. She’s known for her quiet work ethic, timing on defense, and steady finishing at the rim. With clear impact on both ends, she’s a core piece of Texas Tech’s continued growth and competitiveness.
